Former secretary 2022-2025: Aristide BERTRAND

Last updated: Sept 2026

Educated in both the Humanities (Preparatory Classes, Bachelor in Humanities with a major in Literature, 2019) and in management (ESSEC Higher School, 2019), I have served as a research & teaching assistant at GEM (Higher School of Grenoble Chamber of Commerce) from 2019 to 2025, whilst pursuing a PhD in organisation and management studies under the supervision of Prof Ismael Al-Amoudi (defence expected by Dec 2026).

I have developped and delivered a range of courses and supervised essays about personal and ethical dimensions of work within contemporary organisations. In parallel, I have been writing a PhD dissertation entitled “Authentic characters and their corroders in organisations: Social, literary and rhetorical accounts”. My approach strives to be humanistic and interdisciplinarian, drawing upon literary forms—particularly novelistic materials and rhetorical analyses—as well as upon some philosophical and sociological traditions (virtue ethics , Archerian realism).

During my years as research & teaching assistant, I have contributed to the CSO as its secretary, as well as to several academic conferences and journals—for instance as a reviewer for the Journal of Business Ethics—as much as I engaged with civic and union organisations alike.
