Beatriz Ribeiro da Silva holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Languages and International Relations from the University of Porto (Portugal) and a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance from the University of Padova (Italy), where she graduated with the thesis “Performing rights.The social and political potential of dance in the human rights discourse.”

She is currently a PhD candidate in Religion, Culture, and Public Life at the University of Padova. Her thesis explores the relationship between social imaginaries and societalization processes through a comparative project focusing on civil sphere reactions to the deaths of Nahel Merzouk in Nanterre and Ramy ElGaml in Milano.

Her research interests lie in social theory and social ontology, particularly social imaginaries, with a focus on aesthetics, arts, and visual data. She has participated in various seminars, including the CLACSO Talk Series “Religion, Culture, and Public Life—Dialogues Between the Mediterranean and Latin America,” and she holds a certificate in Visual Data and Visual Methods in the Social Sciences from the Università della Svizzera Italiana.

In the year 2023/2024, she served in the Universal Civil Service at the Human Rights Centre “Antonio Papisca,” where she matured her communication and public-speaking skills and helped in the organization of several international and local academic events.
